It's just a little crush...

(To get the full experience of this post, I recommend that you listen to this song, while reading it...)

I have to do something a little embarrassing and teenage-like. I have to reveal my fantasy guy. Ever since I saw him in Donnie Darko I've had Jake Gyllenhaal as my #1 celebrity hottie and I can't wait to see him in Prince of Persia on Friday. But not only do I think he's the hunkiest man in the Universe, I also think he's an amazing actor and he seems like a great guy, too.

Reasons to love Jake:

That smile!

Those eyes!

That body!

...and most importantly:

That sense of humor!

I wish I could list less superficial things, but I can't pretend to know anything personal about him. Besides, celeb crushes are all about the fantasy. And Jake has definitely been in quite a few of mine. LOL.
Who's your fantasy guy or favourite celeb?

(Disclaimer: The pictures are not mine, but were on my computer and I do not recall where I got them from...)

In 1 month, the World as we know it will change... ECLIPSE will come!

Is anyone as excited as I am?!

Double trouble

Here are my two outfits from yesterday. The first one is from when I went to help my sister and her boyfriend unpack. They've just moved back to Odense, where they are from originally. It's a very nice appartment and I'm so happy for them (and their little doggy).

I'm sorry about the blurry pics. I took so many, but none turned out better. I have to get my camera checked. Or better yet: get a new one.

Head band: New Look
T-Shirt: Asos Curve
Jeggings: Evans
Gladiators: Dixie

The next one is from when I went to my friend Martine's. The Eurovision Song Contest Final was on and a couple of us got together to watch it. We weren't really into the danish song, but really enjoyed a few others. You'll see some of them last in this post, if you're curious. Germany won, and I'm not complaining, but I really loved Belgium's Tom Dice.

Head band: New Look
Necklace: H&M
Shrug: Yours Clothing (new!)
Top: Yours Clothing (new!)
Lace Panel Leggings: Yours Clothing (new!)
Boots: New Look

As you can see, I'm wearing some of my new items from Yours Clothing. This was my 1st ever purchase from them and I've got mixed reviews. I absolutely adore the top and the leggings and I think they fit quite well. I didn't expect the top to be long enough to wear as a tunic, but I think it is and also the fabric is very light-weight and perfect for summer. The leggings are amazing and I'm so happy I got them. The lace panel really spices things up from just a pair of plain black leggings. The shrug was much thicker than I anticipated, but it's really warm and comfy, so for cooler summer days and nights it works well. I had some issues with the other 2 items I bought, the check shirt and the tie-dye Tee. I'll review them next week.
It's hard to see on the pics, but I tried to show you guys that my booties from New Look that I got a few months back, are fading and getting worn... golden! I love that!
Now for a few songs from last night, have a great Sunday!

We have a 24 hour written exam from today. It's Translation: Danish-German. So today I went to the Library at Uni, to see some of my fellow students, discuss the translation and get something done. Rushed out the door as usual.

Straight to the heart... and you're to blame!

Oh Evans, why do you do this to me??? You should know that I am broke...
But 30% off? I mean, who can resist that?

This morning I woke up and found the Evans Newsletter in my inbox. 30% off selected lines. I've been drooling over A LOT of pieces and I had a huge wishlist and shopping bag in my account. I logged on to see if any of my items were reduced... and they ALL were. Those that weren't 30% off, were 20% off. It took me 15 min. to limit my shopping bag to the items I desired the most, as I unfortunately don't have £300 to spend (but easily could have). I ended up spending £98,35 (incl. delivery) and saved an amazing £29,65. I tell myself that I need summer clothing and this will all be items I would have bought sooner or later. Now just on sale...

What do you tell yourself, when you are broke, but end up spending money anyways?

OOTD / exam paper handed in!

Hey guys,
just a quick post. This is what I wore today, as I handed in the paper I've been working on for a few weeks. Afterwards I went on a casual date with a guy that I also saw last Thursday... I'm not sure where it's going yet, but still exciting stuff. Will keep you posted, promise :D

I need to start taking better pictures. I'm always in a rush. Sorry! But at least you can see my outfit and you can see that I handed in my paper. Not sure if it was good enough, but happy it was over!
Black washed denim shirt: Evans

Sticky Sweet Danish - Queen of casual... (?!)

Lately there's been some debate going on (especially on twitter) about whether a blog can be called a) a fashion blog b) a fatshionable blog. It seems to me, like people are trying to label themselves and others. What ever happend to just having a blog and enjoying it?

But I have to say, I've taken precautions and I've renamed the title of my blog and also changed a bit in my description. I don't wanna be part of this discussion and I don't want any misunderstandings. I truly don't think I'm the most fa(t)shionable or fashion forward girl there is. I'm not as innovative and creative as many other plus size bloggers. One being that I'm bigger then, let's say Gabi from YFF and Sakina from Saks in the city, which means I'm more limited when it comes to choosing clothes. The other being that I'm not as bold as, let's say Christina from musings of a fatshionista. I could never wear tight fitting clothes, bodycon dresses etc. Simply because I don't feel comfortable in them. I admire all of these girls a great deal, I love their blogs and their styles and I do take some things with me from following them. Maybe in the future when I've accepted my body more or if I choose to lose weight, I will become bolder.

For now I'm just a regular girl with an interest in everyday-fashion. I love wearing jeggings and oversized tees. I love clothes that I don't have to iron, clothes I can put in the machine and not have to have dry cleaned. I love sleeping that extra ½ an hour in the mornings and just putting an easy outfit together. Something that you can just throw on and rush out of the door. Not saying I don't think about what to wear and how it looks, but I guess I just love comfy and casual clothes. Where I try to spice things up a little is in the smaller details. Like a head band, rings, nail polish, scarfs etc. Something that makes my outfit just a little bit more interesting. But I do want to improve my style even more, without taking away my personality and love for the casual. So I've made a list of things I want to try and achieve:

- wearing heels more often
- spending more time on doing my hair
- buying clothes in colours that 'pop'
- be even bolder with my accessories
- investing in a few dresses
- buying a few colourful shoes

More will probably present itself, and I think I'll do more posts on this subject, and maybe other subjects, too. So far my blog has not had long texts, LOL. And I usually have loads to say.

To all of you girls out there with blogs: don't label and limit yourselves according to others. A blog is a personal thing and you should be able to write about and call yourself anything you want. The most important thing is to have fun blogging. Go for it! Fatshionista is just a word, true recognition of style comes from within. If you believe you're fab, then you are and everyone else will respect you for it... and if they don't, you're better of without them.

Much LOVE and PEACE xoxo

... I was born! It's my birthday!!!

Happy birthday to me.
I'll be back later with more.

...and it hurts with every heart beat...

My heart stopped when I saw these items on various blogs today.
I need them NOW! They'd be outstanding as single pieces, but they'd also make a killer outfit together!!!

Fringe Top: SimplyBe, £28
Skirt: Faith21, $13,80
Stud Collar Jacket: SimplyBe, £55
Besides being broke, I have some problems ordering these items:
- SimplyBe doesn't seem to ship to Denmark, at least they won't accept my phone no. and I can't create an account and therefor I can't order from them.
- Faith21 ships from the US. I'm not sure if they do ship to Denmark, but even if they did, I'd be afraid that my item(s) would be snatched in customs, where I'd have to pay huge taxes (anything from outside the EU is in risk of this).
The lovely Christina from Musings of a fatshionista has offered to buy the skirt for me and send it. It would probably be both cheaper and less in risk of going to customs, as it would be send from a private person, not a company.

1st purchase from Yours Clothing

I've been wanting to try buying from Yours Clothing for a while now, as I've read some great reviews of their clothes on other blogs. Their clothes seem fashionable and cheap, so I'm excited too see how that reflects in the quality of the clothes. I found most of the items on sale, as I'm kind of broke at the moment (seems to be all the time...). But I think they will all work well in my summer wardrobe. Oh! And I also got another 10% off, as it was my 1st order. Score!

Check shirt: £10 (reduced from £18)

Tie Dye Tee £10 (reduced from £15)
Lace Panel Leggings £10

Key Hole Top £10 (reduced from £18

Cable Detail Shrug £5 (reduced from £15)

Can't wait for them to arrive!

Family brunch

Today I had my family over for brunch, as I'm turning 26 on Wednesday and they don't live in Copenhagen. I had made waayyy too much food, including: scrambled eggs, bacon, pancakes, rolls, sliced pineapple/kiwi/grapes, meat & cheese plate and a birthday cake - but it was yummy! My mom brought a homemade, traditional danish cake "brunsviger", which basically is danish brown sugar melted on a soft, sweet dough. Mmmm.

I got lots of nice presents: Money (yay!), a hard disc, New Moon on DVD, a series from The Body Shop, a cool figure (actually a piggy bank), flowers and a garden gnome (for my balcony!).

It was a really nice afternoon and I'm especially glad that both my grannies came and saw my new home. They don't get out much these days.

I wore my black dress from Asos and my cropped jacket from Zizzi. And a head band from H&M, that I bought in Berlin last summer and still adore. My shoes were black flats from Evans (please excuse my dumb facial expressions. Sadly I was in a hurry!)

This is Hansi II (Hansi I was stolen over a year ago):

I hope you all had a great Sunday!

May 10, 2010

Right now I'm sitting in the library at Uni and I'm trying to write. I have a paper that's due May 25th and I've only just begun. I'll make it, but I have to try and not distract myself too much with other stuff. You know how EVERYTHING becomes interesting, once you have to study for something important? Like cleaning, doing laundry or dishes... even ironing your clothes (which I hate!). I spent all day yesterday doing stuff like that (plus being on Facebook constantly, blogging, watching tv/a new dvd). So now I've moved all my stuff to the library and what happens: there's wireless!!! Thank God my friend and study buddy, Ninna, is here. Maybe I'll actually get something done!
This is what I'm wearing. Very casual and comfortable:

Alice Head Band: New Look
Cropped Jacket: Zizzi
Top: Gina Tricot
Jeggings: H&M BiB, customized by me
Boots: Evans
... and a surprisingly BIG smile, all things considered!

Good for studying: Ninna and books (as you may be able to tell, I'm writing about RAF - Red Army Fraction. Google it.)

Bad for studying: internet and Facebook

If you see me online somewhere, tell me off! Haha.
