Red Riding Hood

Just a quick post tonight. I was at the hairdresser today (finally) and had a longtime wish fulfilled: really red hair. I wanted it to scream KAPOW! I love it- what do you think?

Tree hugger

Vest: Zizzi (current collection)
Shorts: H&M BiB (current)
Sandals: Evans (current)
Sunglasses: H&M (current)
Earrings and bow: Pieces (current)

Today after work I went to meet my friend Sarah, and some of her friends in a park, for some sun, food and a cider. We also had a huge tray of fresh fruit, that some people nearby donated. Yummy! I can't help but love summer, it really is my favourite time of year. As the weather was gorgeous, I put on a pair of shorts and a vest. Lovely! I hope you have lots of sunshine where you are, too x

Sunday Brunch

Today I had brunch with my friend Henriette (at 1:30 PM!). Haha, you gotta love Sundays and summer  break. The brunch was fine, but I've had better. They did however make a mean Chocolate Mocca! After brunch, we went for a walk through Copenhagen's shopping streets ("Strøget") and I had Henriette take some pics of me. I love how helpful and supportive many of my friends are with my blog, thank you! We ended up with a couple of ciders at one of the lakes in Copenhagen, feeling like two lousy drunks on that bench, in comparison to all the runners there. LOL. It was a really nice day and we've agreed that it won't be the last time this summer! My shorts are new, so even though the weather wasn't really good, I had to try them out. They are short and show my thighs in all their might and glory, including cellulite. But you know what? I don't care. It feels so good saying this and really mean it! I've come such a long way with accepting myself and my body, and nothing's gonna stop me (well, maybe crop tops). You gotta flash the flesh! Bare arms, bare legs and swimsuits: beware!

I hope you all had a great weekend- remember to enter my giveaway! x

Anno 2003

Always ready for the camera and only slightly drunk.

These days young people graduate from the danish equivalent of high school. I can't help but smile, wave at and congratulate them, whenever and wherever I see them. As tradition goes, we have our own version of graduation caps, where the colour shows, what kind of high school you attended, and these are to be worn every day for about a week after your final exam, where you are allowed to put it on for the first time. There are a lot of other traditions connected with the hat, with variations from school to school. I remember, that we cut out a piece of the inner leather band, each time we watched the sun rise after staying up all night. I have 5 cuts in mine! Other traditions include cutting off a piece of -or the entire- black front, if you pass out and being allowed to wear the hat backwards, if you finish an entire case of beer in one day (that's 30 beers!). None of this happend to me, thank goodness. There are plenty more rules, but I can't remember them all, it's been so long, LOL. Another tradition however, is that we decorate a truck with beech branches, flags, balloons and banners and then ride it all day after the graduation speaches and receiving our diploma. We visit everyone's parents, and they all have food and drinks ready. I think we were 18 people in my class, so that made for a lot of stops, food and drinks! We also have a kind of a prom, a galla, but this also varies from school to school. Mine was 2 days before graduation, and I had my dress special made and my hair done by a hairdresser. I felt really pretty! As I'm nostalgic today, constantly hearing the young people drive by in their trucks, here's some picture spam of when I graduated back in 2003. I can't believe it's been 8 years! Where did they go? I wouldn't trade my outlook on life today or my past experiences for the insecurities of my youth, but I can't help but sometimes wonder, how I am now 27 and no longer 19 years old. Time flies people, so hold on to those precious, once in a lifetime moments!

Choose Life

Her er gårsdagens outfit.

Made famous by the boys from Wham!, these tees are still so highly sought after that designer Katherine Hamnett decided to relaunch them, along with a host of other socially conscious slogans.
Only this time, they’re organic. Choose Life was launched back in 1983 [...] and encouraged us to choose life over war, extinction, and so on. (Læs mere her)

Jacket: New Look
T-shirt: Evans
Leggings: Evans (previous collection)
Brogues and bracelet: monki
Earrings: Asos
Rings: Glitter
Bag: unknown

Here's my outfit from yesterday. The pics are taken at work, where we had a staff meeting. It was my first time wearing the T-shirt that I got with the awesome Evans discount code, but now you can also get it 50% off (£10). It was designed by the british designer Katherine Hamnett in the 80's, and immediately gained a huge following, along with her tees with other political messages:

"Made famous by the boys from Wham!, these tees are still so highly sought after that designer Katherine Hamnett decided to relaunch them, along with a host of other socially conscious slogans.
Only this time, they’re organic. Choose Life was launched back in 1983 [...] and encouraged us to choose life over war, extinction, and so on." (Read more here)

I let myself be inspired by the 80's and paired the T-shirt with wet-look leggings, brogues and a blazer jacket. The brogues and leather bracelet are brand new, I just got them in the monki sale. Keep an eye on the blog over the next few days by the way. I have a giveaway in the making for you!

Tityra Mama

Hvad siger I?

P.P.S.: Jeg var i øvrigt også carmakomas "Woman of the day" i dag! I kan se indlægget lige her.

Jacket: Zay (previous collection)
Top: City Chic
Pants: carmakoma (gifted)
Sandals: Evans (current collection)
Cat: my friend Sarah's "Dunse"

Skull ring: Glitter
Metal- and black ring: H&M
Star earrings: Pilgrim
Cuff earring: Pieces

Yesterday on my Facebook page I promised you an outfit, but it got late and I didn't make it. Now it has to wait, because I have another one for you. I had coffee with my friend Sarah today, and I felt like wearing some of my new clothes. The pants are another one of the items, that the lovely carmakoma ladies let me pick out. They are called Tityra and have so many fab details: zippers, pockets, metal pearls, rushing and embroidery. And they are so comfortable! They do however stretch a lot, so I'd recommend you to size down 1-2 sizes. I got these in an M (EU 48), even though the S (EU 44-46) sat better on my legs. The S however did not close, so I'm settling for a baggy look, which I quite like. If you have different proportions from me, with a smaller waist and wider legs, these will fit you more like a skinny jean. (I'm an apple-/strawberry shape, with bigger bust and belly, no ass and slim legs!) No matter what, I feel like they can be worn either way and look great. The top was my birthday present from the sweet Jessica. It's from the Australian brand City Chic. I feel like the top and the pants compliment each other really well- I like the mixture of the feminine and the rough. The top has that look in itself, with the purple colour and beading, paired with the metal straps. I accessorized to match that: girlie sandals and rougher jewelry, and I quite like the outcome! What do you think? And also, do you like how I do so many detail pictures, or do you think it's a bit over the top and would prefer just a couple of full figure shots? I really appreciate your feedback and comments!

P.S.: I was unsure if you could see the outfit properly, do to the shadows from the fence, so I snapped some pics inside, too.

P.P.S.: I was also carmakoma's "Woman of the day" today! You can check it out right here

The beautiful Maria and her sweet friend, Wiebke

The invite to the blogger event (courtesy of Bloggers Delight)

Sneak peek inside of The Jane (picture courtesy of The Jane)

The goodiebag from Monki, that I got at the event.

Yesterday I went to a vernissage with my friend Maria and her German friend, Wiebke. It was cool and quirky, and I might post some pics once Maria uploads them. Afterwards we went to a cool new club called The Jane. It's inspired by Mad Men and has a cool old fashioned men's library/office look in the lounge area. Later at night a "secret" door opens up to the more modern part, with more bars and a dancefloor. But you can't expect chartmusic! It was a great place and the cocktails, though expensive, were delish. As the danish blogging community Bloggers Delight hosted an event, the entrance was free. I got to chat with my old friend, Jeanett, and meet Katrine, Christina and Mikkel. Mikkel provided us with some cute goodiebags from monki. A leather cuff, a notebook and a gift certificate to the store. Neat! My outfit was primarily new clothes. The ladies of carmakoma were kind enough to let me choose some clothes from the webshop and they arrived yesterday. The first thing you'll get to see is the Cowbird dress pictured above. You'll have to wait patiently for the rest! It's such a lovely and feminine dress, with a kind of retro feel to it. It's made of a soft jersey-like fabric, has two layers and cute ruffles. It's really flattering with the layers, as the outer layer doesn't cling to your body and you can just see the inner layer at the bottom of the front, which also makes you feel less exposed. The dress is sleeveless, so I was on new territory- flashing my flesh going out on the town! But I did feel very comfortable, and quite sexy in it! Since I am a bit of a chicken when it comes to showing cleavage, and as I wanted to add a slimming touch to my stomache, I wore a longline slimming top from Pieces underneath. With the Caracara blazer over it, I felt really stylish!

Work wear

Her er gårsdagens outfit.

Sheer blouse: Zizzi
Longline top: Evans
Denim skirt: Zizzi
Tights: Evans
Shoes: Skechers
Scarf: Details by Zizzi
Leather cuff: Details by Zizzi
Bangle: Føtex (local shop)
Rings: coconut rings from France and Darwin, Australia
Earrings and satchel: Pieces
Headband: H&M

This is my outfit from yesterday. I was at work first (that's why most of my items are from Zizzi) and afterwards I met up with a friend of mine, who needed some new clothes. I got to play personal shopper and after that we had dinner together. We snapped some pics outside of Fisketorvet, the shopping mall in which I work. In case you are wondering about my, not so fashionable, shoes: they are Skechers Shape-ups. I bought them, because the hard floor at work causes me back pain. They were expensive, but well worth the money!
