Just arrived at Vega, Copenhagen. Ready to meet and hug the real Denise!
We headed straight backstage, where the models were being instructed before a run-through of the show (picture courtesy of Curves and I)
I had to pull this faux leather jacket from the rags backstage. It was love at first sight!
Karina photographing Denise's model sheet, while a dresser checks the clothes in the background
Shoes and jewelry for the show! I really loved the red leopard pumps
Model Anna Natalia in hair and make-up
Denise enjoying a break backstage. All smiles, as usual.
Trying to look somewhat decent next to Denise, but come on - she's painfully beautiful!
With the stunning Ivory May, such a fun girl!
Model Sharon Dumfries in hair and make-up
Chilling backstage - no doubt who's show it was!
We were seated front row, both for the rehearsals and the show. Awesome!
I obviously had to meet the band "The Blue Van", too. It took me all day to build up the courage. Forever awkward.
Denise does a little happy dance backstage after the show
We Will Rock Your Sexy Curves".
On Saturday I was lucky enough to have been invited to another fashion show dedicated to curves. This time it was Zizzi who was putting on a huge show at the concert venue Vega in Copenhagen. They had flown in international models such as their front model Denise Bidot and the gorgeous Ivory May, known from things like the tv-show "Curvy Girls", which Denise is in, too, as well as several dutch and a single danish model. The music for the show was delivered by the Danish rock band "The Blue Van", who played amazing live rock'n'roll music, and by the Danish DJ Le Gammeltoft, who blasted cool tunes through the speakers. Before the show, I was invited backstage together with my friend Karina from Copenhagen Curves, and a norwegian blogger, Nastaran from Curves and I, who I'd been talking to on twitter, and was excited to meet. The three of us had a great afternoon together, where we sat on the front row in an empty Vega, enjoyed two run-throughs of the show, chatted with the models backstage, touched all the clothes for the show and yelled somewhat embarrassing comments at the band (okay, that seems to have been only me...). We received a warm welcome from the lovely Helle from Zizzi, who gave us a tour of the venue and let us know, that we should make ourselves right at home, that we could walk around anywhere we liked, and that we were more than welcome to take all the pictures we wanted. We were generally taken really good care of, even though it was hectic and chaotic at times - just as it should be before such a big show. The atmosphere was so inviting, and I was really impressed with the entire team and crew, as it was the first time Zizzi was putting on a runway show like this. Everyone was so nice, welcoming and curious to know who we were - and there was always someone from the Zizzi staff to answer any of our questions. One of the coolest things about being backstage, was getting to experience what felt like a private concert and runway show up close and personal. It was beyond awesome, that they had recruited The Blue Van to rock the house (I am a rock chick at heart after all), and it went so well with the theme "We Will Rock Your Sexy Curves". Even though there aren't many curves on those boys, they sure did rock the runway and the stage. It was such a cool combo, and something I'd love to experience again. And obviously it was really cool meeting Denise and Ivory. They are a pair of really sweet, fun and crazy girls, and so easy to talk to. I genuinly hope I have the chance to see them again, and to speak to them some more! All in all it was an amazing day in amazing company, and I can't wait to share even more pictures with you. Tomorrow noon I'll post pictures from the rehearsals and the show, and tomorrow evening I'll upload an album to my facebook page with even more pictures from the day. So remember to follow me there - and also on instagram, where I've already put up loads of stuff!
