Carmakoma Statement Garden Party at CPHFW

Models Josephine Kronborg and Cassia DeMayo rocking the "race car" print
Carmakoma model Line McKay working the runway
Gorgeous models, and gorgeous clothes. Loved the soft pink shorts with black hearts
New Carmakoma model Elisabeth Moore can't take a bad picture, even on the runway. Absolutely loved the blazer she wore!
Ladies in white! Stine Juhl had a Grace Kelly vibe about her in that dress. Loved it on her! I predict that Harmony's jacket will be a bestseller - remember the "It" jacket (style Perisca2) from spring?
Croquet on a runway? Carmakoma says of course! Absolutely loved the jacket Maja is wearing, and the details on Josephine's skirt are amazing!
I love how Carmakoma is not afraid of using tattooed and edgy models. Kecia and Orshi are HOT!
Model Eva K. blowing bubbles - such a cute detail to the show!
The models handed out cold beers and chips, too. Such a fun touch!
Croquet clubs make great limbo poles! Also: I died over that floral jacket and pants. Need. The blue dress is gorgeous, too. There's also an amazing coat in that colour!
Models Harmony and Line dancing down the runway
Stine shakes it like a polaroid picture (because it is!) - Carmakoma photographer Lars Wahl sneaked into the shot.
Carmakoma is all about diversity in women: model Luna Stjerneby shook her size 36 (UK 8/US 6) booty like a pro!
It's all about stripes! I loved the set Line was wearing, and Henriette's dress reminds me of a baseball jersey. Absolutely awesome design!
The grand finale! All the models gathered and danced to "I love it" by Icona Pop
Heidie Lykke and Angelica Weiss getting the credit they deserve. Such a cool event and show, and such an amazing collection for SS14.
One last pose, all together! What a beautiful bunch of ladies!

Buksedragter, shorts, chiffonskjorter, kjoler, jakker, nederdele, sæt.

Tak!

-------------------------------------------

On Thursday the coolest show went live at Bella Center, Copenhagen. Carmakoma had a party, and what a blast it was! With their "Funkylicious Statement Garden Party" they once again showed, that curves are hot, and that they should be flaunted. They showed clothes from next year's Spring and Summer collection, and I have to admit that I was blown away!  I think that this is my favorite collection to date. There are more colors in the collection, there are prints, sequins and pearls - and of course their trademark: faux leather! The details and the cut of the clothing is amazing. There are jumpsuits, shorts, blouses, dresses, jackets, skirts and sets. This collection has it all, and I could easily bust my wallet on it! My absolute favorite pieces were the set of floral pants and jacket (worn by two models), the striped "baseball" dress (as I've named it...), the rose colored shorts with hearts, the cobalt blue jacket, the shiny turqoise "80's" jacket, a printed jumpsuit that wasn't in the show (and that I forgot to photograph), and of course the massively cool black tee with the gold writing "Attitude is everything"! I'd better stress, that even though I was backstage both days and was more or less a part of the team, I have not been paid to write nice things about the collection or to hype it. I simply just can't contain my joy! The show was so cool and so different, the atmosphere was great - and there were no "diva" vibes from anyone, which isn't that typical for fashion week. I had some really fun days, and it was awesome seeing the show going so smoothly! Everywhere I looked, people in the audience were smiling and laughing. It seemed as if everyone found it liberating to see curvy women of all sizes walk down the runway. There was an enormous amount of joy and love in the air, and I think everyone could have continued partying a few more hours. I really hope you can sense just a bit of the vibe from these pictures (there'll be an album with even more pictures on my facebook page later today). To finish off this post, I think it's appropriate to address the team behind Carmakoma personally. It'll be sugary, but it's well deserved:

Bravo, Carmakoma! You've really gone and surprised me, and you've turned a happy customer into a thrilled fan. My love for you has reached a new high. Both personally, but also style-wise. Thanks so much for constantly pushing the boundaries of what a curvy woman "can" wear, and thanks for always focusing on showing off the curvy body, not hiding it. Thanks for breaking the norms, also when it comes to models. And last, but not least: thanks for letting me be a part of your universe for a while. It's a lovely place to be. Thank you!
