"It's like watching an animal in it's natural habitat", blev jeg ved med at sige til hende.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

A couple of weeks ago I was invited along to a photoshoot for Zizzi's Spring Collection with the gorgeous Denise Bidot. It was exciting to see how such a shoot is put together, and what kind of work is put into it, so that everything goes according to plan. There's no doubt hours and hours of planning involved, which is why I was quite surprised by how laid back and stress free the day went by. As soon as I entered the studio I felt such a warm atmosphere, and that feeling continued through out the day. Everyone was in good spirit - there was plenty of laughter and jokes between takes, and there was not a hint of bad attitude, arrogance or other negative adjectives that are usually associated with the fashion industry. Even though it was a bit intimidating joining such an experienced crew for the day, they all succeeded in making me feel right at home and almost as part of the team. I had some really good talks with the people from Zizzi, where we discussed both the clothes for the shoots, but also what's in store in the future, how the entire plus-size industry is changing, and how Zizzi are re-branding themselves and taking part in the change. They have so many exciting ideas, good intentions and plenty of passion and commitment. If even half of that comes to life, 2014 is looking bright. Not just for Zizzi, but for the industry and (danish) plus-size women in general. The images above give you a tiny peek at what went on during the shoot. They were mostly shooting image- and statement photos, not the actual lookbook. I did however have a look at most of the clothes for the following days, and there's a lot to look forward to! I'm sure this will be Zizzi's strongest collection to date, and I'm once again so pleased with their positive development, which we haven't even seen the end of yet.

After a great day at the studio, Denise and I headed back to her hotel room, where we met up with Christina and Tanja, and then headed to Tivoli (a local theme park). We wanted Denise to see the Christmas lights there, and we went for dinner, too. I had a great night, and I can't wait to have Denise back in Denmark - she's such a fun and silly girl. Not to mention a fantastic model. "It's like watching an animal in it's natural habitat", I kept telling her.

Thanks so much to Zizzi for letting me join them behind the scenes - it was a fun and exciting day, and I had a blast. Don't be surprised if I take you up on the offer of stopping by again next time!

  1. Is that a white blazer behind the pink jacket?? I wish it is and we get it to our store! I work for Zizzi and it's nice to see what's coming up soon. I'm happy to see that Zizzi is stepping up and offers more variety in the future. I wish this will encourage us finnish ladies to try something new too.

    1. Hi Ceaa,

it is indeed a white blazer! There'll be matching white trousers with it, so there's an entire white suit. Very St. Tropez for the summer! I think the whole industry is changing, and that means the customers, too. We're also quite slow at accepting changes here in Denmark, but I'm sure that everyone will catch on in time.
      Thanks for stopping by! xx
