It's just you and I tonight, why don't you figure my heart out?

Me and Matt Healy - the leadsinger of The 1975

------------------------------------------------------------------

Last Thursday the british band The 1975 played a gig in Copenhagen. My friends Sara, Stine and I really wanted to attend, but it was already sold out once we learned that they were coming to Denmark. We decided to try and meet them around soundcheck instead, and ended up hanging out around the venue until late at night. The band was cozy inside with their "chocolate", while we all of a sudden ended up on their personal guestlist for the show, as we were contacted on Twitter. We decided then to stick around, and met 3 of the members before the concert, while the leadsinger Matt didn't come out until afterwards. It was a very cold day, but in good company it was fun. We had our pictures taken, got our albums signed, groped our favourites (hello George!), chatted with Matt and hung out with the bassplayer Ross, who I in true Rikke-style ended up insulting, while he on the other hand complimented me on my boots (kudos!) - and of course we got to see an amazing and quite intimate gig, and can forever say that we were on the band's guestlist that night. If you still haven't heard about them, I'd recommend to start with their hits "Chocolate", "Sex" and "Girls". Their career will take off for sure within the next year - in the UK and the US they are already playing for 5000 people a night, and have to have bodyguards, as Matt told us. As you can guess we spent the waiting part of the day taking pictures, and that's why I can now post my very casual outfit. I love my tartan jacket that I bought in London, but it's almost too cold to wear it already. I'll try and make the most of it in the next couple of weeks, but then it'll probably end up in the closet until spring. Luckily the tartan trend will stay put for a few more seasons! Are there any artists or band that you're fangirling over a bit, and would like to meet?

Big Sexy Hair

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Once again I've been sent some product from the danish online shop billigvoks.dk. This time I've tried out some of the "Big Sexy Hair" products, and I absolutely love them. They give the right amount of volume, stay true to their promises and don't look sticky or unnatural. I'd definitely recommend them!

P.S: They products were gifted for review, but the opinions are my own.

Who cares where we go, we're ready for the Afterglow

Jacket: Zizzi (available from January) // Dress: Primark // Tights: Primark // Shoes: New Look //
Earrings: H&M // Lipstick: Little Mix "Perrie" for Collection Make-Up
With my gorgeous sister at the amazing Indian Restaurant "Maharaja" in Bayswater (best I've ever had!)
The sisters Klint having a Snakebite at the local pub
My sister's sweet friend Julie and I (with my beloved Snakebite)

--------------------------------------------------------------

Just as I thought I didn't have anymore outfits left from London, I remembered that we actually snapped a few pics when I went out to dinner with my sister and her friend on Friday night. Because it was dark we didn't take that many pictures, but I actually think they turned out fine anyways. I was wearing my new dress from Primark, as well as my new shoes from New Look, and I paired it with my leather jacket from Zizzi, which I think gave a cool twist to the dress. As you know, I love mixing the feminine with the more edgy and casual. We had a really lovely meal at an Indian restaurant near our hostel, and afterwards had a Snakebite at a local pub. It was a good night, and I'll most definitely repeat that outfit.

Tell me you won't break my heart, you won't tear my world apart

Bomber Jacket: Carmakoma // Shirt: 17 Sundays (gifted for review) // Leggings: 17 Sundays (gifted for review) //
Hat & Cross Earrings: H&M // Boots: Steven Madden

-------------------------------------------------------------------

This is my last outfit from London. I was in Camden with my sister and her friend, where we had a good time strolling around and browsing all the shops and stalls, and had a really nice lunch at Poppie's Fish & Chips. It was fun having someone to hang out with outside of Plus London, although I managed fine on my own on my last day, as my sister and her friend left. It wasn't hard to keep myself entertained with shopping and sightseeing, but it did result in quite a lot of selfies. The clothes I wore to Camden had been gifted by the amazing ladies of 17 Sundays. The shirt is incredibly nice, it's longer in the back, it isn't see-through, and it has the coolest details in faux leather (what is up with me and faux leather at the moment?!). And of course I'm a huge fan of the colour and the print of the leggings. They also have an amazing fit, they are highwaisted and keep everything in place, so to speak. The jacket from Carmakoma has become a favourite, and it goes with basically everything. I understand if you're a bit surprised to see me wearing a hat by the way - it's not like it happens so often, haha!

Plus London Three: Community Day Outfit // Double Up [Leather]

Multicoloured Sweatshirt: Carmakoma (gifted for review) // Faux Leather Pants: Carmakoma (gifted for review) //
Boots: Steve Madden // Hat: Topshop // Necklace: Black Heart Creatives
Photos taken by the amazing Katrin of reizende Rundungen

Hvordan bruger I læder i jeres outfits?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

This was my outfit for the Sunday event of Plus London Three, which you could read about yesterday. The always amazing girls at Carmakoma had sent me some fabulous clothes to wear, and when the team behind Plus London informed us, that the dress code was casual, I immediately decided on this lush jersey sweatshirt. If the faux leather pants can pass as casual can be discussed, but hey, I am a blogger after all! I love how both the sweatshirt and the pants can be dressed up or down, and I plan on using the pants just like I'd do with a pair of jeans. There's nothing to be afraid of when it comes to wearing leather or faux leather as a plus-size woman. It's one of the season's biggest trends, and one that we can easily embrace, which is why Karina from Copenhagen Curves and I also decided  that it should be the theme for this week's (late) "Double Up". The pants have an amazing fit, but just know that they run a bit small. Mine are a size M, which is a EU48 at Carmakoma, and I'm usually a 46 in pants. I receive a lot of questions about faux leather, and if I don't get really warm in it. But this season is perfect for wearing this material, and also I'm not really too concerned with something like that! I regret not having pictures taken of the back of the sweatshirt, as it has really nice details. It has an amazing cut-out which gives it a really cool look. And I obviously love the 80's vibe of the colours and print, so I couldn't help but add to the kitchy look by wearing my new fuchsia hat, purple lipstick and my pink "fat bitch" necklace with it. Now you've seen me wearing different types of leather and faux leather, so I'd like to know if you've also embraced the trend?
How do you incorporate leather into your outfits?

Remember to stop by Karina here, and see what she's come up with!

Plus London Three: Community Day

The Vintage Cake Company had set up shop at the event - heaven for my sorry, hungover self.
I seriously had trouble deciding what to get, but ended up with the salty caramel chocolate brownie. YUM!
Lauren during her talk about how she started blogging, with Bethany listening intensely!
Lots of blogger babes listening to Lauren talk
Me with Lauren after her talk - notice her trusted friend the Diet Coke (don't worry, Lauren - we're on the same page ) ;-)
The amazing Erin from Miss Lacy Ltd, who gave me two bags of my new favourite sweets! Such a nice girl!
Having dinner after the event with the cutie Katrin from reizende Rundungen
With the awesome Katie from Toodalookatie at her fave Indian restaurant after the event

------------------------------------------------------------------

The third, and final, event during Plus London Three, was the "Community Day" on Sunday. After focusing on fashion, brands and design on Saturday, it was now time to focus on the community aspect of the british plus-size world. I have to admit that I wasn't too sure if I was going to attend on Sunday, since I didn't really connect with that aspect as much (especially with me being danish and all), but also since hearing a lot of bloggers say on Saturday, that they weren't going to show. But I decided to go anyways, as I really wanted to be a part of all of Plus London, and because I wanted to support the girls who had planned the entire weekend for us. The first thing on the schedule for the day, was a panel discussion about gender, sexuality and being fat. I was hungover from the night before, and was also stuck in the tube again (what else is new!), so I arrived in the middle of the discussion and had a bit of a hard time keeping up with it. My knowledge on the political aspects of the plus-size world is also quite limited, but it was interesting to hear what kind of problems are related to the fact that you're fat - for instance the whole issue about society seeing you as either totally asexual or are oversexualizing you because of your body. There's nothing inbetween. That's something I have thought about a bit myself, so I found it interesting to hear the panel's take on it. But at the end of the day, I wasn't active in the discussion, as I didn't feel completely at home in the topics. After the panel, there were workshops where you could alter or embellish your clothes. I hadn't brought anything with me, since I'm not exactly crafty, so I used that time to eat cake and drink coffee from The Vintage Cake Company, and had a chat with some of the other bloggers. It was a perfect setting for a relaxed Sunday, and something completely different from the hectic Saturday, where you barely knew who to talk to next. So despite a disappointing turn up, I really enjoyed the event. My highlight was when Lauren (one of the hosts) had her talk about how she started blogging, what she'd accomplished with it and how it had developed over the past 4 years. She started blogging about six months before me, and I clearly remember finding and reading her blog, almost from the very beginning. I could relate to a lot of the things she was talking about. Afterwards a few of us hung around and kept talking about the problems and challenges there can be when you're a blogger, what we're still hoping for in the business, and how we would like to see things develop and change from here on out. It was a really good chat, and if it hadn't been because our sofas where being picked up and we realized that the event was over, we could have continued for hours on. While we were talking there was "fat yoga" in the next room, which I've heard people enjoyed. I think it was great that there were so many different activities offered to us, and the idea behind the event was just building and strenghtening the community. Even though not everything appealed to me personally, I still think it was a great day, and I really appreciated the fact, that you could also just choose to hang out and chat with other attendees. The most important thing I've taken with me from the entire weekend is the fact that I got to meet so many other girls, who share my interests and views. Girls who don't fit into society's screwed up view on the ideal body, but who aren't about to give in to the pressure of being a size 8. Girls who are passionate about clothes and fashion, who have a desire to make a change and have something to say. That part of the community especially, is something I sometimes miss at home, and I realized how far behind we still are here in little ol' Denmark. I have so many thoughts on this running through my head, that I might end up writing a seperate post on the subject. We'll see. No matter what, I'd like to thank Lauren, Isha, Kirsty, Claire and Michelle for planning and making Plus London Three happen. I had a great time, I met some amazing people that I wouldn't have had the chance to meet otherwise, and I was inspired by the passion and the visions that both these girls, as well as other bloggers, expressed during the weekend. It was really nice of you all to embrace me as well as you did, and I really hope I have the chance of returning the favour some day!

Plus London Three: After Dark

The adorable Isha and Lauren - two of the masterminds behind the event
Me with my babes Naomi and Danie
One of the most fun and gorgeous women I've ever met!
DJ Bethany was rocking the house!
Three ladies, three Carmakoma dresses! Me with Cynthia and Gingerpear, who'd just gotten her dress during the brand day!
So happy to finally meet the wonderful Lauren - her blog was one of the first ones I started reading!
Katrin and Katie on the big screen after their Blast! shoot. Too much fun!
Keeping a straight face and giving a bit of a sexy secretary vibe (picture courtesy of Blast!)
Silly face! Dress: Carmakoma (previously gifted) // Tights: Primark // Wedges: Asos // Rings: Glitter
I can't even explain how this happened. Nobody knows. (Picture courtesy of Blast!)

Her er mit indlæg om det andet event under Plus London Three, nemlig lørdag aftens "After Dark".

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's my post on the second event during Plus London Three: Saturday night's "After Dark". The name really says it all - what happens after dark, stays after dark. The girls had planned a fab night with deadly vodka shots (I shouldn't have had one... two... or even three of those), DJ Bethany (half of the the team "DOMO" - Dancing On My Own) played fantastic tunes, and Blast! had brought the most amazing props to play with in our photoshoots. As soon as I spotted the yellow raincoat and the blow-up banana, I had to claim them for myself. I don't know why, that's just the way it was. And when Naomi jumped in the picture, the mood of the night had been set. Despite the fact that only about one third of the people with tickets showed up, we had a fabulous time. Later on I ended up in a club with Naomi, Lorna and Laura from What Laura Loves among others, and had a brilliant night. Those pictures are not meant for the blog though, haha! I didn't pose for my usual outfit pictures, but you can still spot it in the pictures above. I was wearing an amazing Carmakoma dress, and we were actually a few people wearing their designs, which made me incredibly happy. I'm not normally one to wear bodycon dresses, but in this case, I think I rocked it. Good shapewear always helps of course, and I was actually wearing both the knickers and the dress from Zizzi's range of shapewear underneath. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but I for one feel way more confident when I'm wearing it. Thanks to all the amazing ladies (and a few guys) for a great night!

Plus London Three: Brand Day Outfit

Leather Jacket: Zizzi (gifted sample) - in stores around January // Faux Leather Peplum Top: Zizzi (gifted for review) //
Tie Dye Jeans: Zizzi (gifted for review) // Necklace: New Look Limited Edition // Boots: Steve Madden
Playing model for Blast! (Pictures courtesy of Blast!)

--------------------------------------------------------------

Here's my first outfit from Plus London Three. The amazing Katrin from reizende Rundungen was so nice to play photographer for me all weekend, so she took most of my pictures. The last two are from my shoot with Blast! that I told you about in yesterday's post. It was fun trying to model a bit, but it was also really scary not being in control and not having a final say in the pictures. They did tell me that I'm very photogenic though, and asked me if I was an actual model (haha!). The nice people from Zizzi had sent me an outfit to wear, and I'd chosen the kind of edgy, scandinavian style, with lots of black and leather. I spiced it up with the world's most awesome necklace that I'd found in New Look the day before, and I really think it made the outfit pop even more. To finish the look I simply added red lips and red nailpolish, and messed up my hair a little bit. I got loads of compliments, and I was so happy to represent danish brands and designs through out the weekend. I can't say it enough, how amazing Zizzi's new branding is, and how much I love their styles at the moment. I couldn't have wished for a better outfit for sure, and I'll definitely be putting all the pieces into good use!
